The brief for this Outdoor Kitchen was to create a Beautiful Outdoor Kitchen that could be used throughout the whole year with a strong emphasis on entertaining guests.
The client had a relatively small patio area which overlooked a large landscaped garden. The garden sloped away from the house steeply and they wanted to utilise the view of the garden from the Outdoor Kitchen.
Because of the relatively small space available on the client’s current patio we came up with a design which would double the size of the patio area by creating a raised timber deck, the Outdoor Kitchen would sit on this deck.
During initial discussions the client explained that they had seen an Outdoor Kitchen in Cheshire during a recent Garden Exhibition visit which they really liked. The Outdoor Kitchen in Cheshire was constructed using Hardwood Cabinets.
We were also aware that the client had recently installed electric gates which were made from African hardwood.
Working together with the design team we proposed the use of the same timber (Idigbo) that had been used in the electric Gates installation for the Outdoor Kitchen construction.
To ensure the weather wouldn’t spoil the client’s plans to entertain guests, we designed a weatherproof canopy complete with Aluminium trim. The look was completed with chic waterproof curtains and two high powered halogen, electric heaters.
We also specified a 108 Bottle Commercial grade Bottle Cooler as well as a revolving 6 bottle optics dispenser and an AEG Stainless steel Refrigerator.
For the BBQ we chose a 90,000 BTU, Beefeater Signature Built in range, SL4000, 5 Burner Barbecue with a high powered side burner. This was connected to the clients home/natural gas supply so there will never be any red faces because the gas bottle has ran out in the middle of a party!
The BBQ also has the optional mains powered spit and we manufactured the bespoke sized Stainless Steel Cabinet doors to finish the look.
The clients choose Black granite for the worktops and upper shelf which complement the African hardwood beautifully. They also chose a stainless steel mono tap with a round stainless steel inset sink complete of course, with hot and cold running water.
For the electrics and lighting we fitted a number of up lights and down lights as well as remote controlled strip/plinth lights which depending on the mood can change colours at the touch of a button.
Finally we planted a number of mature cherry laurels around the base of the deck to compliment the landscape and completed the look with rattan furniture that can seat 12 guests. We also supplied a popcorn machine for the children.
The client is absolutely delighted with the finished project. They told us that the most repeated words from friends and family have been, “absolutely stunning”!
Most projects range between £15,000 and £50,000 depending on appliances chosen, etc.
The cost of this project was circa £25,000 including Vat.
